Finality Finality

Dwelling in dwindling farces,
Malicious and factitious lies bind.
Fervent prayers gone down the drain.

Gaping flesh and sordid wounds,
Unhealed chasms and renewed cries,
No one recognizes.

Phantasms and specters haunt
numbed faces and grim chagrin.
Staidness and vapidity twirls,
delirium swirl,
hopes dashed in an endless spiral.

Wither does half a soul go?
Where are the summer springs and green meadows?

In an act of finality,
the stoic shalt fall.
Simple smouldered dust-
Like a moth to fire.

Anyone else read C.S. Lewis' The Weight of Glory?

I am rather happy at how the cloth turned out. This took six sessions to complete.

Medium: Oil on wooden board.
